The LPGA issued an apology after attendees faced long wait times for a parking shuttle to the Solheim Cup event. Fans were left frustrated as they waited for hours to catch a bus from the parking lot to the golf course. The Solheim Cup, similar to the Ryder Cup, features American and European teams competing biennially. This year’s event took place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
Due to limited parking at the club, attendees were directed to park at a nearby venue and take a shuttle. However, many fans endured lengthy lines stretching over a mile and did not reach the course until hours later. The LPGA acknowledged the transportation challenges and assured fans that improvements were being made.
Attendees reported insufficient buses to transport fans to the event, leading some to opt for alternative parking arrangements. Despite the delays, the competition proceeded with the United States leading Europe after the first day. Notable victories included pairs Nelly Korda and Megan Khang, Andrea Lee and Rose Zhang, and Lauren Coughlin and Sarah Schmelzel.
The event continues with a new slate of competitions on the second day. Europe had previously won the Cup in 2019 and 2021, retaining the title in 2023 after a tie. With the competition returning to a regular schedule, the United States aims to secure a victory while ensuring a smoother experience for fans.
