Giolito has had a challenging time during his minor-league rehab starts this month, allowing 10 runs and 13 walks in 17 1/3 innings. Despite the less-than-ideal numbers, the focus for veteran players during rehab starts is more on regaining form and staying healthy rather than immediate results.

The Red Sox starting rotation has had its struggles, ranking middle of the pack in ERA and WAR.
