The Las Vegas Summer League recently wrapped up with an exciting championship game between the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies. The Heat emerged victorious with a 120-118 win, thanks to a game-winning shot by rookie Pelle Larsson.

Unlike traditional NBA games, the summer league featured overtime rules with a target score of 120 and no time limit. Larsson’s clutch basket sealed the deal for the Heat, who finished the event with a perfect 6-0 record.

Miami’s Josh Christopher, the 24th overall pick in the 2021 draft, put up an impressive performance with 24 points and earned MVP honors for the championship game. Center Kel’el Ware, the 15th overall pick in the 2024 draft, also shined with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Cole Swider and GG Jackson exchanged crucial 3-pointers late in the game, sending it to overtime where Larsson’s heroics secured the victory for Miami. Despite a strong showing from Memphis’ Jake LaRavia and Scotty Pippen Jr., the Heat came out on top.

Memphis held a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Miami fought back to force overtime. Larsson’s performance in the extra period was instrumental in the Heat claiming their first summer league title in Las Vegas.
