Mike Perry Eyes MMA Return Against Dillon Danis
Mike Perry is eager to make his return to the fight game after a brief hiatus. The bare-knuckle boxing star is considering stepping back into the MMA cage for a matchup against Dillon Danis, as revealed on Uncrowned’s “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Monday.
Perry, who was set to box Jake Paul in July 2024, hinted at the possibility of switching gears and taking on Danis in an MMA bout instead. Following KSI’s withdrawal from a boxing match against Danis, Perry claimed that he was approached by Misfits Boxing to set up an MMA fight with Danis.
“Dillon Danis is looking to fight in MMA,” Perry stated. “I’m up for it, but it all depends on what Misfits Boxing has in store for us.”
Although the details are still unclear, Perry expressed his willingness to face Danis in the cage if the opportunity arises. This potential matchup comes as a surprise, considering Misfits Boxing typically hosts boxing events only. Perry’s last MMA fight was in 2021, where he suffered a loss to Daniel Rodriguez in the UFC.
Meanwhile, Danis is focused on his upcoming MMA fight against Tony Ferguson in the Global Fight League on May 25. If the Danis vs. Perry bout materializes, it could serve as a roadblock for Danis’s GFL debut, as Perry hinted that the fight could take place as early as April.
“I’m ready to face Dillon Danis in MMA,” Perry declared. “Let’s make it happen.”
While Perry has been active in BKFC since 2022, he is open to exploring new opportunities in MMA. Despite briefly straying from BKFC to pursue the Paul boxing match and launch his own fight promotion, Perry assured fans that his relationship with BKFC remains strong.
“There are plenty of options for me,” Perry explained. “Even Conor McGregor has expressed interest in a potential fight with me. I’m focused on my training and preparing for whatever comes my way.”
As Perry awaits confirmation on his next fight, he remains optimistic about his future in combat sports. Whether it’s a matchup against Danis in MMA or a long-awaited BKFC showdown with Robbie Lawler, “Platinum” Perry is ready to make his mark.
