Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout does not have a timetable for his return to the field after he exited the first game of his minor-league rehab assignment because of knee soreness. An MRI came back clean, and now they are waiting for the soreness to subside before he resumes baseball activities.
Trout, 33, has been out of action since April 29 due to a torn meniscus in his left knee that required surgery. He had a productive start to the season with a .220 batting average, 10 home runs, and six stolen bases in 29 games before the injury.
Despite Trout’s absence, the Angels have struggled this season with a 45-58 record, sitting 8.5 games back in the American League West.
Trout mentioned in June that he was focused on regaining strength in his knee and was taking a cautious approach to his recovery to avoid any setbacks.
