Martin Truex Jr. is gearing up for the 2025 Daytona 500 with a new team backing him.
Tricon Garage will be sponsoring Truex’s No. 56 car as he makes his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series. Despite retiring from full-time racing after the 2024 season, Truex expressed his desire to compete in the upcoming Daytona 500.
Due to Joe Gibbs Racing reaching its four-team limit, they were unable to field a car for Truex. Rumors suggested that 23XI Racing could have been a potential option, but ultimately, David Gilliland’s team stepped in to support Truex’s entry.
Cole Pearn will be returning as Truex’s crew chief, reuniting the successful duo that led Truex to victory in the 2017 Cup Series championship. Bass Pro Shops, a long-time sponsor of Truex, will continue their partnership for the Daytona 500.
Truex, who finished 10th in the 2024 season without a win, will be aiming for success at Daytona. His car will bear the No. 56, a number that holds significance in his racing career.
With Tricon’s entry securing the 42nd car for the Daytona 500, Truex will need to qualify for the race through his performance in the qualifying races.
