Team USA shook up their starting lineup for the game against South Sudan, with Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers being benched. The decision was made due to Embiid not meeting expectations at the 2024 Paris Olympics, as he only scored 4 points in the first game.
Excitement buzzed in the NBA community as Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis replaced Embiid in the starting lineup.

Aside from Embiid, Jrue Holiday was also replaced by Jayson Tatum in the starting lineup. Tatum, who didn’t play in the previous game against Serbia, now has the opportunity to showcase his skills.
