NBA schedule release: Ranking all 30 teams on their social media reaction, hype for 2024-25 season

The 2024-25 NBA schedule has been released, with many teams getting creative to excite their fans. Social media teams utilized food videos and clever invitations to generate buzz. The official start of the NBA season is set for Oct. 22, with a doubleheader featuring the Boston Celtics hosting the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves visiting the Los Angeles Lakers.

Here is a ranking of all 30 NBA schedule release videos, from worst to best:

30. Miami Heat

They simply shared the schedule without much fanfare.

29. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers posted aesthetic LA photos in separate posts, which made it difficult to follow. The video lacked mention of opponents and redirected fans to their website.

Various other teams also released their schedule videos, showcasing a mix of creativity and engagement with their fans.

One of the standout moments was when he watched the unforgettable clip of himself walking onto the court during a kids’ halftime show at Oracle Arena during the 2015 Western Conference Semifinals.

The effort put into the lion animation was evident, and kudos to the marketing team for using Keegan Murray’s voiceover when the lion lit up the beam.

The Rockets found an engaging way to excite fans about the schedule by giving out free tickets to their preseason game against the Pelicans. Fans had to scan a QR code worn by a guy running around town to get the tickets.

The Pacers released multiple videos, one featuring Bennedict Mathurin making cupcakes and sharing his love for baking. The social media team also shared a video of a 1000-degree hot metal ball on different objects.

The Jr. Wizards entertained with a mascot guessing video, showcasing their creativity with great guesses and amusing drawings.

The Jazz used board games to reveal their schedule, incorporating memorable sound clips for each opponent.

The Clippers impressed with a Hollywood-style production, using a drone to showcase their new Inuit Dome and including cool cameos.

The Minnesota Timberwolves presented a chaotic but entertaining video, achieving their goal with a series of clips.

Dereck Lively II showcased creativity and dedication with videos featuring lego logos of each team and a visit to Dinosaur World.

The Orlando Magic’s videos were unique, with one feeling like a fever dream and the other featuring cartoon versions of players exploring The Magicverse.
