When it comes to planning a team’s training camp, numerous decisions are made. From the schedule to the drills to the playing time for each player, every detail is carefully considered.
One decision that often garners attention is the choice to hold joint practices. These practices involve teams practicing against each other, typically teams that will face off in an upcoming preseason game.
Under head coach Robert Saleh’s leadership, the New York Jets have made summer joint practices a regular occurrence. This year, the Jets are set to participate in three joint practices, a high number compared to other teams in the league.

Please note: The Los Angeles Rams are actually scheduled to have 4 joint practices, while the Los Angeles Chargers have 2.
While the decision to hold joint practices may not be a make-or-break factor for the Jets’ success, it is clear that Saleh values this structure given the frequency with which they are organized.
What are your thoughts on joint practices? Are you in favor of them?
