The Los Angeles Dodgers made some major moves at the trade deadline, adding key players like Jack Flaherty and Amed Rosario to strengthen their roster for the rest of the season.
One of their new acquisitions, Tommy Edman, has been sidelined for most of the year. However, there is good news as Edman provided a positive update on his rehab progress this week.
“I’m due for a reevaluation in the next few days to see how close I am to returning to the field. It shouldn’t be much longer,” Edman stated on Wednesday.
Edman has been a valuable player for the St. Louis Cardinals since his debut in 2019, showing versatility by playing multiple positions on the field.
Although Edman was expected to be the Cardinals’ starting center fielder on Opening Day, he has been sidelined due to wrist surgery and ankle issues throughout the season.
The Dodgers are hopeful that Edman will make a strong comeback as they currently have several key players, such as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy, on the injured list.
With a 63-45 record, the Dodgers hold the second-best record in the National League, boasting a 5 1/2 game lead over the San Diego Padres.
