The recipient of the sixth Ballon d’Or Feminin will be announced on Monday 28 October. Previous winners of this prestigious individual award include Aitana Bonmati and Megan Rapinoe. Alexia Putellas is the only player to have won the women’s Ballon d’Or more than once.

Lucy Bronze and Beth Mead are the only two Lionesses to have placed in the top three, with Mary Earps achieving the highest rank for a goalkeeper last year. The upcoming ceremony in Paris will also feature other awards such as the men’s prize, men’s Kopa Trophy, men’s Yashin Trophy, men’s and women’s club of the year, as well as men’s and women’s coach of the year.

The Ballon d’Or Feminin was first awarded in 2018, with Ada Hegerberg winning the inaugural prize. Since then, Spanish players have dominated the award, with Alexia Putellas winning back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. Aitana Bonmati claimed the award in 2023.

The nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or Feminin were announced in September, with Aitana Bonmati being a favorite to win for the second consecutive year. Other contenders include Mariona Caldentey, Patricia Guijarro, Salma Paralluelo, Lucy Bronze, Lauren Hemp, Lauren James, Sophia Smith, and Lindsey Horan.

Aitana Bonmati is a strong favorite to win this year’s Ballon d’Or, given her performance for Barcelona, including a quadruple-winning season. Other contenders include Caroline Graham Hansen, Patricia Guijarro, Alexia Putellas, Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith, Mallory Swanson, Tarciane, Gabi Portilho, Khadija Shaw, Tabitha Chawinga, Ewa Pajor, and Graham Hansen.

In conclusion, the predicted winner for the 2024 Ballon d’Or Feminin is Aitana Bonmati. For more information on the nominees and favorites, please refer to the original article.
