Manchester City, who have won the FA Cup seven times, staged a comeback at Etihad Stadium to defeat Championship club Plymouth Argyle in the fifth round. Nico O’Reilly scored two goals, and Kevin De Bruyne added another to secure the victory for City.

Despite dominating the first half and hitting the post through a shot from Ilkay Gundogan, City fell behind to Plymouth when Maksym Talovierov headed in a corner delivery from Matthew Sorinola. However, O’Reilly equalized just before halftime with a header from De Bruyne’s free-kick.

In the second half, O’Reilly scored again with a header from Phil Foden’s delivery, putting City in the lead. Captain De Bruyne sealed the win with a goal in the 90th minute after Erling Haaland’s shot was saved.

City’s victory lifted their spirits after falling behind in the first half. Plymouth, despite their impressive tactical plan, could not withstand City’s pressure throughout the game.

O’Reilly, a product of City’s academy, has been in fine form in the FA Cup this season, contributing to their success in the competition.

The FA Cup quarter-final draw will take place on Sunday, March 2, following the Manchester United vs Fulham match. The draw will be broadcast on BBC One.

The FA Cup schedule for this season includes the quarter-finals on the weekend of March 29, the semi-finals on the weekend of April 26, and the final on Saturday, May 17.

Prize money for the FA Cup winners and losers at various stages of the competition has been announced by the FA, with significant rewards for the teams progressing through each round.
