Several veterans have been recently cut from the UFC roster, including former interim title contender Ovince Saint Preux.
The list of fighters removed from the roster also includes Brian Kelleher, Ricky Glenn, Victor Altamirano, Da Woon Jung, Kaynan Kruschewsky, Brianna Fortino, Victoria Leonardo, Karl Williams, Danyelle Wolf, and Jarno Errens.
These fighters were either released or their contracts expired, leading the UFC not to renew them at this time. The changes were initially reported by the UFC Roster Tracker on Twitter.
Saint Preux’s UFC tenure concludes after over a decade with the promotion, starting from his days in Strikeforce. The former football player from the University of Tennessee faced numerous top opponents throughout his career, securing notable wins against fighters like Corey Anderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
In a memorable bout in 2016, Saint Preux faced Jon Jones for the interim light heavyweight title, ultimately losing by unanimous decision after a hard-fought five rounds.
Saint Preux’s final UFC fight ended in a submission loss to Ryan Spann, marking the end of his contract with the organization.
Kelleher, another recognizable name on the list, spent seven years in the UFC competing in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions. Despite facing tough competition, Kelleher’s time with the UFC concluded after four straight losses, including matchups against Umar Nurmagomedov and Cody Garbrandt.
These fighters are now free agents and can explore opportunities with other organizations.
