The Philadelphia 76ers finally had their trio of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey on the court together for the first time this season on Wednesday. Unfortunately, George had to exit the game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a left knee hyperextension, which he had previously suffered from at the start of the season.
The injury occurred when George landed awkwardly after defending Grizzlies’ player Desmond Bane in the third quarter. Shortly after George’s exit, Embiid also suffered a knock on his knee but managed to continue playing.
This setback adds to the challenges the Sixers have faced this season, as they currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a record of 2-11. The team had high hopes for the season after acquiring George, but injuries have plagued their roster, with Embiid and George both missing games at the beginning of the season.
Despite finally having their trio back on the court, the Sixers suffered another loss, highlighting the struggles they have endured so far.
