Jason Jackson is on the path to reclaiming his championship title.
PFL’s 2025 tournament season kicked off with PFL1 at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, featuring the welterweight and featherweight tournaments. In the main event, Jackson defeated Andrey Koreshkov with a second-round technical submission, securing his spot in the welterweight semifinals.
The fight between Jackson and Koreshkov was intense, with Jackson taking control in the second round. Despite an illegal elbow from Jackson causing a cut on Koreshkov’s head, the fight resumed after a recovery period. Jackson seized the opportunity, securing a rear-naked choke for the win.
Jesus Pinedo also made a triumphant return, defeating Adam Borics in the first round. Pinedo will now face Gabriel Braga in the featherweight tournament semifinals.
Former interim Bellator champion Logan Storley dominated Joseph Luciano to advance to the welterweight semifinals. Storley will face Masayuki Kikuiri in the next round.
In another welterweight bout, Movlid Khaybulaev secured a split decision victory over Jeremy Kennedy, earning his spot in the semifinals against Ta Hyun Kim.
