Exciting news for UFC fans as Rafael Fiziev is set to face Ignacio Bahamondes in the co-main event of UFC Baku on June 21. This will be a homecoming of sorts for Fiziev, who grew up in Azerbaijan. The booking was first reported by RedFuryFT.
The event in Azerbaijan will also feature a headline bout between former UFC champion Jamahal Hill and light heavyweight contender Khalil Rountree Jr.
Fiziev, with a record of 12-4, will be looking to end a three-fight losing streak. Despite once winning six consecutive fights in the UFC, including notable victories over Rafael dos Anjos and Renato Moicano, he has recently faced defeats against Justin Gaethje (twice) and Mateusz Gamrot.
On the other hand, Bahamondes from Chile holds a record of 17-5 and is coming off three impressive wins in the octagon. With a record of 6-2 in the UFC, he has secured bonus-winning victories over Christos Giagos, Manuel Torres, and Jalin Turner since April 2024.
Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming event lineup.
