Shohei Ohtani and Mamiko Tanaka Welcome Baby Girl
Shohei Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, are overjoyed to announce the arrival of their baby girl. Ohtani shared the happy news on social media, accompanied by a heartwarming statement and a photo of their daughter’s tiny feet. Their beloved dog, Decoy, also made a special appearance in the heartwarming post.
“I am so grateful to my loving wife, who gave birth to our healthy beautiful daughter,” Ohtani expressed in his announcement. “To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous, yet super-anxious parents.”
The reigning National League MVP, Ohtani, remained in Los Angeles over the weekend, missing the Dodgers’ series in Arlington, Texas, as he awaited the birth of his child. He was placed on the paternity list in anticipation of this special moment.
Following the Dodgers’ upcoming games in Arlington and Wrigley Field, they will return home for a six-game homestand. To fill Ohtani’s spot on the active roster, the Dodgers have called up veteran Eddie Rosario from Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he has been performing exceptionally well.
Ohtani expressed his gratitude towards the Dodgers organization, his teammates, and fans for their unwavering support and kind words. He also extended his thanks to the medical professionals and everyone who supported them throughout this journey.
Last spring, Ohtani revealed his marriage to Tanaka before a game in Seoul, South Korea. The couple later announced their pregnancy, sharing a heartwarming photo that included their furry companion, Decoy.
In the current season, Ohtani has been a standout performer for the Dodgers, boasting impressive statistics at the plate. With a batting average of .288, an OPS of .930, six home runs, eight RBI, and five stolen bases, Ohtani has been a key player for the team.
As the Dodgers continue their season, fans eagerly anticipate Ohtani’s return to the field and celebrate this new chapter in his life as a proud father.
