The United States Solheim Cup Team is Officially Set
Captain Stacy Lewis has finalized her 12-player team for the upcoming Solheim Cup event, where the United States will face off against Europe at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. The team is led by top-ranked players Nelly Korda and Lilia Vu, along with former Stanford star Rose Zhang. Other members of the team include Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Allisen Corpuz, Megan Khang, Andrea Lee, and Allison Lee.
In addition to the automatic qualifiers, Lewis also selected Lexi Thompson, Jennifer Kupcho, and Sarah Schmelzel as her captain’s picks. Thompson, a veteran of the Solheim Cup, brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Europe, the defending champions, will field a strong team featuring players such as Charley Hull, Esther Hanseleit, and Leona Maguire. The competition is set to take place from September 13-15 in Virginia.
