Having spent the last 13 seasons with Real Madrid and contributing to their six Champions League triumphs following a four-year stint at Tottenham earlier in his illustrious career, Modric stated: “This is an exciting opportunity. Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase, and the ambition to compete at the highest level.”
“Drawing from my experience of playing at the highest level, I am confident that I can offer valuable insights to the club.”
“My objective is to contribute to the club’s positive growth and assist in building a promising future,” Modric added.
The Swansea board remarked: “We are thrilled to have Luka on board as part of our ownership group.
From our initial conversations, it was evident that our visions were aligned, and Luka would be a valuable addition to our team.”
“We extend our gratitude to Luka and his team for their support throughout this process, and we eagerly anticipate his visit to the Swansea.com Stadium to meet all of you soon,” the board concluded.
Currently positioned 12th in the Championship with four games remaining and nine points adrift of the play-offs, Swansea are set to clash against strugglers Hull on Good Friday.
