Following Arsenal’s impressive 5-1 victory against Bolton in the Carabao Cup, manager Mikel Arteta expressed his delight with the performance of young talent Ethan Nwaneri.

Nwaneri, a product of the Hale End academy, showcased his skills at the Emirates Stadium by scoring two goals to help secure a spot in the fourth round of the competition against Preston.

The Emirates crowd showed their appreciation for Nwaneri’s efforts by chanting, “Ethan Nwaneri, he’s one of our own,” as they celebrated his goals.

Arteta commended Nwaneri for his rapid progress and the respect he has earned from his teammates, stating, “He’s improving daily and playing without pressure, with confidence, and making decisive decisions at this level.”

Gunning for glory

In addition to Nwaneri’s standout performance, Arteta highlighted the positives from the match, including giving playing time to first-team players and young debutants.

Arteta emphasized, “A lot of positives to take from it, first of all the performance and then the way we scored the goals. We gave deserved minutes to first-team players who needed them and had important debuts that make us proud.”

One standout debutant was Raheem Sterling, who scored a goal in the second half, impressing Arteta and taking a significant step forward in his development.

💬 “A lot of positives to take from it, first of all the performance and then the way we scored the goals.”
