Tiger Woods has confirmed his participation in the upcoming PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie, just a week after expressing uncertainty about his return to competitive golf. The event is scheduled for December 21-22 in Orlando, Florida, and will feature 20 two-player teams in a 36-hole scramble format.
“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” Woods stated. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
Woods had to withdraw from the recent Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas as he continues to recover from back surgery he underwent in September. Despite the ongoing rehabilitation process, he is eager to compete alongside his son at the PNC Championship, an event they have participated in together since 2020.
Charlie Woods, aged 15, has also been making a name for himself in the golfing world, qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur and achieving a respectable finish at the Class 1A Florida High School Boys State Championship last month. Their participation in the PNC Championship adds to the excitement surrounding the event, where they will join other legendary golfers and their family members.
Notable participants include John Daly, Nick Faldo, Justin Leonard, Vijah Singh, Lee Trevino, and Padraig Harrington, along with LPGA star Nelly Korda playing alongside her father Petr, the 1998 Australian Open winner.
