Tiger Woods Provides Update on PGA Tour Return
During a press conference at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, Tiger Woods revealed that he is still in the process of rehabbing his back following a recent procedure. The golf legend expressed that he is not yet physically prepared to return to PGA Tour action and acknowledged that he has a “long way to go” in his recovery.
Woods underwent a microdecompression surgery in September to address the pain he was experiencing in his back and leg. Despite his initial hopes of playing at least once a month, he emphasized that his main focus right now is on rehabbing and strengthening his body.
Reflecting on his challenging year, Woods admitted, “I didn’t think my back was going to go like it did this year.” He also shared that he is uncertain about his future playing schedule, stating, “I truly don’t know. I’m just trying to rehab and still get stronger and better and feel better, really give myself the best chance I can going into next year.”
Although Woods, who will soon celebrate his 49th birthday, had a limited presence on the golf course in 2024, he remains determined to continue competing. Despite recent setbacks, including his withdrawal from the Hero World Challenge, Woods reiterated his passion for the game, declaring, “The fire still burns to compete.”
