Florida Commission Suspends Five UFC 314 Competitors Indefinitely
Five fighters, including one half of the main event of UFC 314, have been suspended indefinitely due to potential injuries.
At the Kaseya Center in Miami, Alexander Volkanovski claimed the vacant featherweight title by defeating Diego Lopes by unanimous decision. Volkanovski (27-4 MMA, 14-3 UFC) emerged victorious and received a 45-day suspension. Lopes (26-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC) sustained significant damage during the fight and has been suspended indefinitely by the Florida Athletic Commission (FAC).
MMA Junkie obtained a full list of suspensions from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Specific details of the injuries were not disclosed due to Florida statute. The complete list of suspensions is as follows. Fighters may be able to return sooner than their suspension period if cleared by a doctor.
