Manel Kape’s long-awaited UFC title shot could be on the horizon.
The top-ranked flyweight delivered a dominant performance against Asu Almabayev, securing a third-round TKO victory in the main event of UFC Vegas 103 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
This win improved Kape’s record to 6-1 in his last seven UFC fights, with four of those wins coming by knockout. This impressive streak puts Kape in a tie for second place in the UFC flyweight division for the most knockouts, only behind Joseph Benavidez.
Following the fight, Kape wasted no time in calling out for a title shot against the winner of the upcoming championship bout between Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Kara-France.
Kape showcased his striking prowess throughout the fight, landing precise punches and showcasing his defensive skills by fending off takedown attempts from Almabayev.
The fight ended in the third round when Kape unleashed a flurry of strikes, forcing the referee to stop the match and declare Kape the winner by TKO.
In the co-main event, Cody Brundage secured a victory over Julian Marquez with a first-round TKO, ending Marquez’s UFC career on a sour note.
