Exciting news in the world of mixed martial arts as Vadim Nemkov and Ante Delija are set to face off in a highly anticipated heavyweight showdown. This epic battle will take place as the co-main event of PFL’s Champions Series Dubai show on Jan. 25 in the United Arab Emirates, as announced by the company on Friday.
Adding to the already stacked lineup is a Bellator lightweight title fight between reigning champion Usman Nurmagomedov and the up-and-coming challenger Paul Hughes, promising fans a night of intense competition.
Nemkov, a former Bellator light heavyweight champion with an impressive record of 18-2, 1 no contest, has transitioned to the heavyweight division with great success. In his PFL debut, Nemkov secured a victory over Bruno Cappelozza with a second-round submission, showcasing his dominance in the heavier weight class.
Ranked No. 11 on the MMA Fighting rankings, the 32-year-old Russian fighter has defeated notable opponents such as Ryan Bader, Phil Davis, Corey Anderson, and Yoel Romero during his time at 205 pounds. With an unbeaten streak since 2016, Nemkov is a force to be reckoned with in the MMA world.
On the other side of the octagon, Delija (24-6) made a name for himself by winning the 2022 season of the PFL at heavyweight, earning a $1 million prize with four impressive wins, including a first-round knockout over Renan Ferreira. Despite limited appearances in recent years, the Croatian fighter has shown his skill by defeating Maurice Greene and facing tough competition like Valentin Moldavsky.
