Basketball legend Vince Carter is set to make his debut as a studio analyst for NBC Sports when the NBA season kicks off on Peacock in October 2025. The eight-time All-Star will join the network at least once a week during the playoffs and will frequently team up with Carmelo Anthony.
“I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the historic return of the NBA to NBC and Peacock,” said Carter. “I am looking forward to working with Melo and the rest of the broadcast team to provide top-notch coverage for NBA fans.”
NBCUniversal secured the rights to the NBA in a new 11-year deal starting in July 2025. Following the announcement, NBC has assembled a star-studded cast for its NBA coverage.
Apart from Carter and Anthony, Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller have been brought on as game analysts. Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle will handle play-by-play duties. Additionally, Michael Jordan will serve as a special contributor.
During his 22-season NBA career, Carter played for teams such as the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks before retiring in 2020. His jersey has been retired by both the Raptors and Nets.
In addition to his numerous accolades, including All-Star selections and All-NBA honors, Carter is known for his iconic performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest. He is also recognized as one of the best dunkers in NBA history and ranks 10th in all-time made 3-pointers.
“Vince is a dynamic player with a seamless transition to broadcasting,” said Sam Flood, Executive Producer, NBC Sports. “His partnership with Carmelo Anthony, a fellow Hall of Famer and Olympic champion, will bring a wealth of experience and insight to our viewers.”
Prior to joining NBC, Carter gained experience as an NBA and college basketball analyst for ESPN and Turner Sports.
