The 137th installment of The Championships at Wimbledon in 2024 has been a whirlwind, and we are now gearing up for the women’s semifinals set to take place shortly.

Similar to last year, this year’s WTA singles competition has seen its fair share of surprises and upsets, with unseeded players making a statement on the grass courts.

Croatian player Donna Vekic, ranked 37th in the world, has defeated 28th seed Dayana Yastremska and qualifier Lulu Sun to secure a spot in the semifinals, where she will face seventh seed Jasmine Paolini of Italy.

The other semifinal will feature recent French Open finalist Paolini against either 2021 French Open winner Barbora Krejcikova or 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, with the final set to take place on Saturday, July 13.

With some of the top names in women’s tennis facing unexpected defeats, the competition is heating up as we approach the final stages of the tournament.
