Virat Kohli of India has recently made history by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in the ODI format. However, Tendulkar’s record of playing the most number of ODI matches, 463, seems unlikely to be matched by any current player.
Tendulkar, who retired from ODI cricket in 2012, holds the record for the most ODI matches played for India, followed by Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka with 448 matches.
The competitive nature of modern cricket, especially with the rise of T20 cricket, makes it highly improbable for current players to surpass the records set by legends like Tendulkar.
Aside from Tendulkar, no Indian player has played more than 350 ODIs for the country.
In this article, we take a look at the list of Indian cricketers with the most appearances in ODIs.
