Dravid bid farewell as India emerged victorious in the World T20 tournament in Barbados. The Men in Blue maintained an undefeated streak throughout the competition, making history by winning the T20 World Cup without losing a single game.
Speculations are already circulating about the potential members of Gambhir’s coaching staff now that he has taken on the role of head coach.

Abhishek Nayar to join forces with Gautam Gambhir?
Reports from Bengali daily Aajkal suggest that Abhishek Nayar, the academy director and batting coach of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), may reunite with Gambhir in his new coaching role for the Indian team. Nayar previously served as an assistant coach under Gambhir’s leadership during KKR’s third IPL title victory.
Gambhir has remained tight-lipped about his plans for the team and coaching staff, choosing to keep his strategies confidential. When questioned about his future plans, he responded diplomatically, stating, “I don’t think that far ahead…I’m in a very happy space right now.”
Gambhir’s first challenge with the Indian team will be against Sri Lanka, who will be under interim coach Sanath Jayasuriya. India is set to tour Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI and T20I series.
In addition to Nayar, Gambhir is considering former Indian pacer Vinay Kumar as the new bowling coach for the team, according to RevSportz. Vinay Kumar was part of the Indian squad that clinched the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
The BCCI will soon be inviting applications for various coaching staff positions.
