The World Series rosters for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers have been unveiled ahead of the first game on Friday. The Yankees announced their 26-man roster first, with 13 pitchers and 13 position players, including utility players Oswaldo Cabrera and Jazz Chisholm Jr. to bolster the team.
Nestor Cortes, the lefty starter for the Yankees, has made a triumphant return to the roster after being sidelined with an elbow injury. Despite initial concerns that the injury could end his season, Cortes is back to help the Yankees in their quest for the pennant. However, third baseman Jon Berti did not make the cut for the World Series roster.
On the Dodgers’ side, they have also opted for a 13-13 split between pitchers and position players. Notably, pitcher Evan Phillips is absent from the roster due to arm fatigue, with Shohei Ohtani stepping in as the Designated Hitter.
Game 1 will kick off in Los Angeles on Friday night, followed by another game on Saturday before heading to New York for two games in the Bronx on Monday and Tuesday.
