Yoel Romero believes that Israel Adesanya should ease off on his training if he wants to make a comeback. Adesanya, the former UFC middleweight champion, is currently on a three-fight losing streak, with his most recent loss being a TKO defeat to Nassourdine Imavov in February.
Romero, who previously fought Adesanya in a title match in 2020, thinks that “The Last Stylebender” should take a break before stepping back into the octagon. He emphasized the importance of rest and recovery for Adesanya, suggesting that he should focus on training as a form of therapy for his body rather than pushing himself too hard.
Adesanya did take nearly a year off after his loss to Sean Strickland in September 2023 but was unable to regain his title in his subsequent fights against Dricus Du Plessis and Imavov. Meanwhile, Romero, at 47 years old, is gearing up to face Ras Hylton in the main event of DBX 1 this Saturday at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Miami.
