Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has issued a warning to head coach Erik ten Hag regarding the return of winger Jadon Sancho.
Sancho recently completed a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, where he played in the Champions League final but faced defeat against Real Madrid at Wembley.
His departure from Manchester United was marked by a public disagreement with the manager, who questioned his fitness after a match. Sancho refuted these claims on social media, leading to a period of training isolation.
Despite the rocky start, Sancho has made a strong impression upon his return to Carrington and has been embraced by Ten Hag. However, Yorke believes that there may still be underlying tensions between the two, exacerbated by Sancho’s lucrative contract tying him to the club.

During an interview with Boyle Sports, Yorke expressed his concerns: “The situation with Jadon Sancho at Manchester United is quite peculiar and not one that either party anticipated.
“While Ten Hag was not expected to secure the FA Cup, he did so. Sancho likely did not foresee Ten Hag’s success leading to a reconciliation and return.
“With three years left on his contract and a significant salary, Sancho’s options for a transfer are limited, adding to the complexity of the situation.
“Resolving this issue will require open communication and a mutual understanding. However, if results on the pitch falter, tensions could resurface.
“It’s a delicate situation that warrants observation, as reconciliation may falter if performance dips.”
Sancho has shown promise during Manchester United’s pre-season preparations and is set to join the team for their tour in the US. Should he remain at Old Trafford, the young talent will aim to secure a regular spot in the squad for the upcoming Premier League season.
