‘Exhausted’ Stephen Curry sitting out Tuesday’s Bucks-Warriors matchup to rest back

Stephen Curry will not be playing in Tuesday night’s game between the Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks due to resting his back. Following the news of Curry’s absence circulating, he was officially declared out on the NBA’s 4:30 p.m. ET injury report.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr mentioned after their recent loss to the Denver Nuggets that Curry was feeling “exhausted” and hinted at the possibility of him sitting out the next game for some much-needed rest.

“He’s tired. Steph’s been carrying us for a month. He’s amazing,” Kerr expressed. “We gotta get him some rest. You can see it. He doesn’t have his energy right now.”

In his last five games, Curry has struggled with his shooting percentages, shooting 37% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc. Despite this, he has been averaging 25.7 points and 6.7 assists in March. However, his performance in February was exceptional, averaging 30.7 points per game.

Gary Payton II acknowledged the pressure on Curry, stating, “We try to take the pressure off him as much as we can. He has a guy on his hip 48 minutes of the game. I’m pretty sure he’s a little gassed.”

Curry, who is currently averaging 24.3 points per game, recently reached two significant milestones in his career, surpassing 25,000 career points and becoming the first player to make 4,000 3-pointers in NBA history.

The Warriors will be facing the Toronto Raptors in their next game on Thursday.
