The USA Men’s Olympic basketball team recently gathered for a camp in Las Vegas over the Fourth of July weekend. During the camp, the team had a photoshoot for the upcoming Summer Games. The NBA social media team also challenged some of the players to spin a basketball on their fingers.
Surprisingly, some of the top players struggled with this seemingly simple task. Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors admitted he couldn’t spin the ball, despite his exceptional shooting and ball-handling skills. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers also gave it a try but couldn’t keep the ball spinning on his finger for long.
Even Tyrese Haliburton and Joel Embiid faced difficulties with the challenge, with Kevin Durant poking fun at Embiid’s struggle. On the other hand, Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers excelled at spinning the basketball effortlessly during the photoshoot.
It’s amusing to see that some of the NBA’s best players struggled with this simple task, while others excelled at it. It goes to show that even the most talented athletes have their moments of struggle.
