The Philadelphia 76ers recently parted ways with Paul Reed, but he quickly found a new home in the NBA.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Detroit Pistons have claimed Reed off the free agency waivers.
“The Detroit Pistons are claiming F/C Paul Reed off free agency waivers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” Charania reported. “Reed is in the second season of a three-year, $24 million deal, and now BBall Paul joins Detroit.”

The 76ers waived Reed due to the acquisition of Andre Drummond and the drafting of Adem Bona. Bona impressed during the Summer League game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Reed is expected to play both power forward and center for the Pistons, reuniting with Tobias Harris. He will join a frontcourt featuring Harris, Jalen Duren, and Isaiah Stewart. Last season, Reed averaged 7.3 points and 6 rebounds with the Sixers.
