Joel Embiid, the standout center for the Philadelphia 76ers, is widely regarded as one of the most skilled players in the NBA. However, his career has been plagued by injuries, preventing him from reaching his full potential and entering the conversation as one of the greatest players of all time.

Since joining the league in 2014, Embiid has struggled with various injuries, including being sidelined for his first two seasons. Despite his undeniable talent on the court, the 30-year-old has yet to complete a full season without missing significant time due to injury. Embiid firmly believes that if he can stay healthy, he would be considered among the all-time greats in basketball.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Embiid expressed his confidence in his abilities, stating, “I think so, I think I’m that talented. If you think about it, the thing that stopped me all these years is just freak injuries.” He highlighted the unfortunate timing of his injuries during crucial moments in the playoffs and regular season.

Despite his individual success, some critics point to the lack of postseason achievements as a hindrance to his GOAT status. The Sixers have not advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals during Embiid’s tenure, adding pressure on him to lead the team to greater success in the upcoming season.

Last season, Embiid put up impressive numbers in the limited games he played, averaging 34.7 points, 11 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on efficient shooting. Many believe that if he had played more games, he would have been a strong contender for the MVP award.

As Embiid enters a crucial phase in his career at 30 years old, he sees this as his best opportunity to showcase his abilities and lead his team to victory. With a talented roster around him, he is determined to prove himself as a winner and solidify his legacy in the NBA.
