Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has advised his teammates to focus on their own game rather than being swayed by Manchester City’s recent struggles ahead of the upcoming derby on Sunday.
Despite City’s poor form with seven defeats in their last ten matches, Fernandes emphasized the importance of not underestimating their rivals.
Fernandes cautioned that City remains a formidable opponent and that United should approach the game with utmost seriousness.
“We need to concentrate on our own performance and strategy, regardless of City’s current form,” Fernandes explained. “The derby holds significant importance for both the fans and us, so our focus should be on securing a victory without being distracted by external factors.”
United captain Fernandes stressed the importance of focusing on securing three points rather than getting carried away with the desire to add to City’s woes.
“Our objective is not just to defeat City at the Etihad, but to win matches in general,” he stated. “Regardless of the opponent, our aim remains consistent – to secure victories.”
“We must focus on our own performance as we strive to elevate our level of play,” Fernandes added. “Our focus should be on earning points in the league, irrespective of the opposition.”
“It’s crucial that we concentrate on ourselves and execute our responsibilities effectively to improve our position in the league standings,” he concluded. “Our focus should be on accumulating points, regardless of the identity of our opponents.”
