Ben Simmons is back in action after recovering from back surgery he had in March. He will be joining the Brooklyn Nets training camp on Oct. 1 with no restrictions, as reported by NBA insider Chris Haynes.
“Ben is fully cleared and is a full participant for the start of camp,” Simmons’ agent, Bernie Lee, told Haynes. “He is excited to get started.”
Simmons had initially tried to manage his back issues without surgery, but in March he opted for a microscopic partial discectomy to address a nerve impingement in his lower back.
Having missed the entire 2020-21 season and playing only 15 games last season, Simmons’ health has been a concern. Despite his struggles, he aims to prove his value on the court this season to secure a contract in the future.
His decision to undergo surgery and focus on recovery reflects his determination to return to peak performance and contribute effectively to an NBA team.
