Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ draft of LeBron James’ son, Bronny, fans are already speculating about the possibility of his other son, Bryce, entering the NBA while LeBron is still playing.
On Thursday, Bronny made history as the first player to be drafted while his father is still active in the league. Now, attention has turned to the potential scenario of Bryce following in his brother’s footsteps.
During an Instagram livestream, Bryce joked about the idea of LeBron waiting until he is drafted before retiring, saying, “That’s too much. He’s gonna be 42, bro.”
I asked Bryce James if he thinks LeBron would wait for him to get drafted before retiring. His response:
“That’s OD… he’s gonna be 42 bro.”

While it’s uncertain when LeBron will retire, the possibility of him playing until the 2026 NBA Draft (when Bryce becomes eligible) is not completely far-fetched. At 39 years old, LeBron continues to perform at a high level, aiming for his fifth championship either with the Lakers or another team.
