Dallas Cowboys injuries: Chuma Edoga reportedly has broken toe, likely out 4-6 weeks

The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their preseason with a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Luckily, most of the team came out unscathed health-wise.

However, there was one setback as tackle Chuma Edoga had to leave the game early and was seen wearing a walking boot afterwards. After undergoing tests, it has been confirmed that Edoga has a broken toe and will be sidelined for approximately 4-6 weeks.

This injury has significant implications for the Cowboys moving forward.

With Edoga out, it is highly likely that rookie first-round pick Tyler Guyton will now step in as the starting left tackle in Week 1. Edoga was the primary alternative to Guyton, and with the season opener fast approaching, the job now belongs to Guyton.

Furthermore, the Cowboys now have a pressing need for a reliable swing tackle until Edoga is fully recovered. This need was present even before Edoga’s injury, but now it is even more urgent. Will Matt Waletzko, Asim Richards, or Josh Ball step up to fill the void? Only time will tell, but it is certain that Edoga will likely begin the season on injured reserve, opening up a spot on the roster for another player.
