Friday night’s matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets was a nail-biter that came down to the final seconds. De’Aaron Fox, in just his second game with the Spurs, almost became the hero with a potential game-winning shot. However, the clock was not on his side, as the officials ruled that the shot came a fraction of a second too late.
Ultimately, the Hornets emerged victorious with a 117-116 win over the Spurs.
The game ended with a flurry of clutch shots in the last 10 seconds. Fox initially broke the tie with a jump shot, but Miles Bridges quickly answered back with a 3-pointer, assisted by LaMelo Ball.
Fox, who recently joined the Spurs in a trade from the Sacramento Kings, showcased his skills with 22 points, six assists, and four steals in the game. Meanwhile, Spurs rookie Stephon Castle had a standout performance off the bench, leading all scorers with 33 points.
With this loss, the Spurs kick off a road back-to-back, with a game against the Orlando Magic scheduled for Saturday.
