Team USA will be missing Kevin Durant, one of its star players, during the tune-up game against Canada on Wednesday night. Durant suffered a calf strain in his left leg before the start of the official training camp but is expected to make a quick recovery.
Head coach Steve Kerr announced that Durant will not be playing against Team Canada and is considered “day by day.” There is uncertainty about his participation in the upcoming exhibitions in Abu Dhabi, but USA Basketball remains confident that he will be ready for the Paris Olympics.
Despite Durant’s absence, Team USA is gearing up for their next exhibition games against Australia and Serbia in Abu Dhabi, followed by games against South Sudan and Germany in London. The team is hopeful that Durant will be back in action before the start of the Olympics on July 28.
Stay tuned for further updates on Durant’s status as more information becomes available.
