LeBron James returned to the court for his first workout on Sunday since injuring his groin during the Lakers’ game against the Boston Celtics on March 8, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. James has missed the last three games as the Lakers have faced a four-game losing streak.
The Lakers are set to play against the Suns on Sunday afternoon.
According to Charania, the Lakers will monitor James’ response to the workout, but he will be out for at least another week as a precaution.

Throughout this season, James has been averaging 25 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 52% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. He had scored 25 or more points in eight of his last ten games, contributing to the Lakers’ eight-game winning streak before the loss to Boston.
Despite recent injuries, Charania also mentioned that Jaxson Hayes will be back in action against the Suns, and Rui Hachimura, who has missed the past eight games, is expected to return “within the week.”
The Lakers currently hold a record of 40-25 and occupy the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings.
