The New York Mets’ journey to the NLCS was no fluke. Throughout their postseason run, they have shown resilience in the face of adversity. From key home runs to tough losses, the Mets have maintained their composure and focus.

Manager Carlos Mendoza praised his team’s ability to bounce back, stating, “We get punched in the face, and we continue to find ways to get back up. And it will continue to be that way.”

Francisco Lindor has been a standout player for the Mets all season, both on the field and as a vocal leader. His solo home run in Game 2 set the tone for the Mets early on.

Mark Vientos also had a major impact, hitting a grand slam to give the Mets a commanding lead. Vientos’ performance reflects the team’s overall mentality of rising to the occasion when faced with challenges.

The Mets’ lineup showed depth and resilience in Game 2, grinding out at-bats and making adjustments against the Dodgers’ bullpen. Mendoza emphasized the importance of being adaptable and taking advantage of opportunities.

With the series tied at 1-1, the Mets are poised for success with strong pitching options in Luis Severino and José Quintana. The team’s ability to stay composed and execute under pressure bodes well for their continued postseason success.

The Mets are currently in a favorable position, with three consecutive games scheduled in front of their home crowd and a strong starting pitching rotation.

After securing a four-out save, closer Edwin Díaz expressed his excitement postgame, stating, “I feel great. Getting a win here in L.A. and heading back home for three more games gives us a great opportunity to clinch the series at home. We’re all thrilled about it.”
