Alex de Minaur has been on a remarkable journey this year, achieving his highest ATP world ranking of seventh and making his first-ever Grand Slam quarter-final appearance at the 2024 French Open.

He also successfully defended his title at the Mexican Open and is poised to lead Australia’s tennis team at the Paris Olympics.

Currently, he is competing at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, aiming to build on his recent successes for a record-breaking finish.

The Sporting News takes a closer look at his Wimbledon history and current performance at the prestigious tournament.

What is Alex de Minaur’s best Wimbledon finish?

Alex de Minaur is currently enjoying his best Wimbledon run, reaching the quarter-finals by defeating Arthur Fils in the Round of 16.

His previous best result came in 2022 when he reached the fourth round but was ultimately stopped by Cristian Garin.

This year, his journey to the quarter-finals included victories over James Duckworth, Jaume Munar, and a walkover against Lucas Pouille.

Up next, he faces the formidable Novak Djokovic in a bid to secure his spot in the Grand Slam semi-finals.

Alex de Minaur’s Wimbledon Record

Alex de Minaur’s Wimbledon record has had its ups and downs, with early exits in most of his previous appearances at the tournament.

After failing to qualify in 2017, he made his debut in 2018, reaching the third round before falling to Rafa Nadal.

Subsequent years saw him exit early rounds, including a disappointing second-round defeat in 2021 to Matteo Berrettini.
